Sessional General Practice Services

Dr Neil Iosson provides sessional (locum) General Practitioner Services to NHS
and private clients in Brighton and Hove, East and West Sussex and Surrey. He
trained at Cambridge University and acheived both the MRCP and subsequently
the MRCGP with distinction. He has recently obtained a BSc in Computing.

Neil has recently completed a period of time as a partner and can bring this
perspective to his sessional GP clients to maximise efficency, reduce the
patient return consultation rate and maximise QOF achievement and patient

Emis Web Development & Training

Neil has utilised his highly developed ICT skills to develop a deep understanding of
EMIS Web and how to make it work well for practices. He can help you automate
processes to ensure safe switching of medications, generate patient letters,
implement safety systems and quickly complete prescribing projects. The aim is
to do everything in the background with the minimum of human intervention thus
smoothing out peaks and troughs in activity. He is not affiliated to EMIS. Neil
offers "doing it for you" services and "training you to do it" services with one-to-
one or small group training for partners and managers in developing ths same

Healthcare Consultancy

Neil has been interested in system design for a long time and worked hard within
practices and wider health economies to change processes and pathways to improve
efficiencies and minimise patient harm. He has been instrumental in several
elements of the successful and safe implementation of electronic discharge
summaries locally and was a member of the West Sussex PCT IM&T committee.  He
is also a reviewer for the locality pathways committee.

His expertise has also been utilised in bid development and document analysis for
NHS contract tendering in the West Sussex area.
Pre-Hospital Care and Emergency Medicine

Neil has extensive experience of out-of-hours, pre-hospital and event
medicine and utilises these skills for both his day-to-day GP patients but also
in other environments and situations.

He has completed the Diploma in Pre-hospital Emergency Care and is an
accredited BASICS responder assisting SIMCAS, the local charity that assists
SECAMB. He is also part of the medical teams for the many events held on the
Goodwood Estate West Sussex and also helps cover other local major events
including the South of England Show and Lewes Bonfires.

to EMIS Web GP practices. He can help
quickly implement prescribing projects,
automation, electronic forms etc.

Neil is an excellent trainer - both in a one-
to-one and group sessions. He offers
focussed training sessions - ideal for a
lunchtime or protected learning afternoon.
